Exposure

by Lucio Durán

There are no grudges or reproaches that could discredit this idea of starting over; not even the stories of the women who spied on our time through the crack in the window, are willing to confront the deep reflections implicit in the commitment to forget without asking for anything in return. What matters, once again, is courage; the forces that are usually mistaken for habits. Nothing is worth more than the return, nothing is more despicable than leaving. Between us reigns that orphaned remorse in need of company, that sadness full of anonymous culprits. Everyone in this duo belongs as much to others as to ourselves, we only need to decide whether to keep being one more; but our greatest complex sometimes disguises itself as pride, meanwhile, what makes us stronger is trying.
